BBF Programmes – Department of Social Services Webinar

The Australian Government has announced in the May budget that as from July 2016 the IPSU will no longer exist and as from July 2017 the Budget Based Funded Program will also cease to exist. The Department of Social Services has assured all Budget Based Funded services that the IPSU (until July 2016) and the Department will work with BBFs to ensure that they are able to transition to the new Chlld Care Subsidy program or alternative funding.

The Department recently held webinars to explain changes and you can view this a the link below.

Key Messages from the Webinar:

Budget Based Funded Programme will cease on 30th June, 2017.

From now until 30th June 2017, services currently funded under the BBF programme will transition to become approved services or may transfer to alternative grants programmes.

It is expected that all BBF services that deliver child care will become approved to ensure families using these services have access to the same subsidies as all Australian families.

Additional support is available under the Child Care Safety Net programmes.

If you would like to discuss any of the issues raised, contact IPSU or your DSS State Office Contract Manager.
