About Us

The Indigenous Professional Support Unit (IPSU) is part of the Inclusion and Professional Support Program (IPSP).

The IPSU in WA helps Indigenous education and care services that receive Budget Based Funding  from the Commonwealth Department of Social Services.  (These services are known as BBF services.)

IPSU offers:

  • professional support
  • training and
  • resources

Indigenous focused BBF services include:

  • Multi-functional Aboriginal Children’s Services (MACS)
  • playgroups
  • mobile playgroups
  • out of school hours care and
  • other innovative services

BBF services provide education and care experiences for children aged 0 – 12 years.

Not from a Budget Based Funded service?  Ask us how we can help you too!

The IPSU can also provide fee for service support to mainstream Education and Care services, helping services to respect and value the cultural of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ within their services, (as per the National Quality Standard principle 6).
